254: Intangible Cultural Heritage

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has no central "ocean" theme, but many of its myriad studies, projects, and educational initiatives touch on maritime culture. In addition to the World Heritage Site, UNESCO has captured a second designation entitled "intangible cultural heritage." In this episode of World Ocean Radio, host Peter Neill will outline the four ocean-related practices, paraphrased from the UNESCO description.
